On June 30, rallies and marches were held in various locations around the United States and Canada to protest the Trump Administration’s policy of family separation at the US-Mexico border, as well as Trump’s immigration policy as a whole.
I attended the rally in Cincinnati, Ohio, which was held in Washington Park in the neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine. It was a great experience. I talk more about it in this Sunday’s episode (Episode 32), so check that out!
As mentioned in the episode, below are some of the organizations I was able to interact with and learn from. The list does not equal endorsement, but all came in the interest of advancing the common goal of supporting America’s immigrants. So I want to be sure to share the list for informational purposes, and provide some opportunities to get involved:
National Organizations
- Human Rights Campaign
- Kino Border Initiative
- Platypus Affiliated Society / Cincinnati Chapter
- Socialist Alternative
- United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW)
Local Organizations (Cincinnati/Tri-State)
